Highest Office 2008
"Courage, Responsibility and Change" was the focus of the Highest Office: Citizen 2008 event at the Crest Theatre in Sacramento. Branch Rickey III was the keynote and spoke of his grandfather, Branch Rickey, as the innovative Major League Executive who helped break the color barrier by signing the first African-American player, Jackie Robinson, into major League Baseball. Mr. Rickey accepted the Highest Office: Citizen award in his grandfather's name. Pictured is Branch Rickey III with participants in the annual event which is sponsored by e.Republic.

Highest Office: Citizen 2007
On 2007 e.Republic sponsored the annual Center for Youth Citizenship "Highest Office: Citizen" event held on May 17 at the historic Crest Theater in downtown Sacramento. The event featured inspirational educator Erin Gruwell, subject of the film "Freedom Writers" and focused on Justice, Fairness, and Equity. Dr. Rex Fortune, Founder of Project Pipeline Teacher Credential Task Force and, was presented with the 2007 Highest Office: Citizen Award for his exemplary model of citizenship. Highest Office: Citizen 2006
On May 11, 2006 Coach Ken Carter was awarded the "Highest Office: Citizen" award from the Center for Youth Citizenship. e.Republic was a major sponsor of the annual event. Highest Office: Citizen 2005
On April 28, 2005, Educator Jaime Escalante was honored with the award "Highest Office � Citizen" at the Crest Theatre in downtown Sacramento where over 800 students, educators, community leaders and parents from the Sacramento Valley attended. Mr. Escalante, the high school math teacher who taught low-income students Advanced Placement Calculus and whose story prompted the making of the movie "Stand and Deliver", was reunited with former students and Edward James Olmos, the actor who portrayed him in the film. e.Republic helped produce the event. Mr. Escalante was presented the award by Mr. Olmos for his outstanding contributions by the Center for Youth Citizenship, a not-for-profit organization which fosters youth leadership and character education. The Center for Youth Citizenship Event was held on April 22, 2004 at The Crest Theater. This year's event was entitled "With Liberty and Justice For All - a Celebration of Equality, Justice and Character in California" commemorating the 50th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education.
