Our research team, based in Folsom, CA, conducts national research activities focusing on information technology in state/local government and education. The Research Analyst is responsible for a wide range of duties involving the management and execution of internal support and external projects. This is accomplished through project management, client management, and work production for Research products and Advisory Services.

This position is responsible for all aspects of the project lifecycle including:

Responsible for coordinating and conducting client “kick off” calls and interviewing client to determine the needs and specifications for projects

Determine project scope and create Statement of Work (SOW)

Develop survey and interview questions, when applicable (in coordination with Market Advisors and Director)

Program surveys in Qualtrics

Schedule and conduct phone interviews (when applicable)

Utilize Salesforce to track assignments and progress through to completion

Conduct necessary secondary market research

Maintain a high level of communication with clients during project lifecycle, including weekly progress reports and collaboration on the development of research instruments

Responsible for tracking and meeting deadlines

Summarize survey responses and other secondary data in Excel, including generation of survey crosstabs

Create PowerPoint presentations and charts to summarize research findings

Write reports from phone interviews and other research deliverables such as jurisdictional profiles

Make presentations to clients (in coordination with Market Advisors)

Solicit and receive project feedback from clients

Ensure project documentation such as completed project presentations are appropriately captured, stored and shared

Make efforts to learn about clients, client needs, and e.Republic business processes, and from an informed perspective anticipate questions, problems, and project needs


Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Effective presentation skills

A sophisticated, professional understanding and personal application of standard business practices and processes

Ability to write professional reports, using proper grammar and punctuation

Highly proficient with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. Well-trained and knowledgeable in research methodologies and research ethics

Experience with market research, competitive intelligence, and/or business intelligence or related areas such as librarianship

Organized and effective work habits that support project management needs, including delegation

A capacity for independent and autonomous work within a team environment

The ability to manage multiple projects and competing timelines, and simultaneously set priorities for self and others

Experience in either the education or government sectors is a plus, but is not required

Proficient with Qualtrics (is a plus, but is not required)

Proficient with Salesforce (is a plus, but is not required)

A master’s degree in any of the following fields is an asset and will be given favorable consideration: library and information studies, education, information systems management, political science, or business.
