Magazine recognized for Best Issue at Folio’s annual Eddie Awards
NEW YORK, NY – Oct. 19, 2015 – Governing magazine today received top honors at the Folio: Magazine's annual Eddie Awards, honoring editorial excellence in magazine publishing.
Governing received the award for Best Full Issue in business-to-business coverage of government and the public sector, for the magazine's May 2015 issue.
Governing was also a finalist in the category of Best Single Article in business-to-business coverage of government and the public sector, for the magazine's February 2015 cover story, "The 'G' Word: Gentrification and the American City," written by Governing Senior Editor Alan Ehrenhalt.
"We're thrilled for this recognition of the work we're doing," said Governing Executive Editor Zach Patton. "State and local government coverage is so vitally important, and we're grateful to Folio for recognizing our contribution to that."
For 43 years, Folio has been considered the industry bible for magazine publishing. This year's awards were announced at a luncheon reception during the Folio: Show, an annual gathering of media editors and executives, held at the Marriott Marquis hotel in New York. Along with the Ozzie Awards, which honor excellence in magazine design, Folio calls the Eddies its "cornerstone awards program."
Since 1987, Governing in the States and Localities has provided independent, nonpartisan coverage of state and local government. Governing is a division of e.Republic, a national publishing, event and research company focused on smart media for public sector innovation.
