(WASHINGTON, D.C., March 12, 2010) — GOVERNING, a division of e.Republic, Inc., was awarded two Jesse H. Neal Awards from American Business Media for editorial excellence yesterday. The magazine took home honors for Best Single Issue of a Magazine (July 2009) and Best Commentary (“Assessments” by Alan Ehrenhalt).
“We are thrilled to be recognized for outstanding journalism with these prestigious awards,” said GOVERNING publisher Fred Kuhn. “For the past 23 years, GOVERNING has been unwavering in its commitment to provide job-critical news, analysis and resources for state and local government leaders. With recent investments across our integrated product portfolio, these awards reinforce that GOVERNING is continuing to deliver on its mission with great success.”
The Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards, which has been called “the Pulitzer Prize of the business press,” are the industry’s most prestigious and most sought-after editorial honors. Established in 1955, the Neal Awards recognize and reward editorial excellence in business-to-business publications. They are named after American Business Media's first managing director, who remained active in promoting the business press throughout his life. Winners of the 2010 competition were named and honored on March 11, 2010 at the Neal Awards luncheon in New York. For a list of all 2010 winners, visit www.americanbusinessmedia.com.
