CHIEF PROGRAMS OFFICER
Teri Takai is the Chief Programs Officer at e.Republic, where she leads the company’s mission-driven programs and national research institutes focused on technology policy and innovation in the public sector. In this role, she oversees the Centers for Digital Government and Digital Education and the Center for Public Sector AI as well as key initiatives and councils addressing issues such as cybersecurity, government efficiency and the future of data in government.
A widely respected leader in government technology, Takai previously served as Chief Information Officer for the State of Michigan, the State of California and the U.S. Department of Defense—the first woman appointed to that role. Earlier in her career, she spent 30 years at Ford Motor Company in global application development and IT strategy before transitioning to public service.
She joined e.Republic in 2017 and brings decades of experience across government and industry, helping guide programs that advance innovation and collaboration across the public-sector technology community. She has received numerous national awards including the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service, Information Week Top 50 CIOs and the CIO Hall of Fame from CIO magazine.
Teri is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Computer Science.
