Market Researcher - (Folsom, CA)

The Research Analyst is responsible for a wide range of duties involving the management and execution of internal support and external projects. This is accomplished through project management, client management, and work production for Research products and Advisory Services.

  • Responsible for coordinating and conducting client “kick off” calls and interviewing client to determine the needs and specifications for projects
  • Determine project scope and create Statement of Work (SOW)
  • Develop survey and interview questions, when applicable (in coordination with Market Advisors and Director)
  • Program surveys in Qualtrics
  • Schedule and conduct phone interviews (when applicable)
  • Utilize Salesforce to track assignments and progress through to completion
  • Conduct necessary secondary market research, the ability to quickly comprehend and retain information specific to the client product/service/solution they offer
  • Maintain a high level of communication with clients during project lifecycle, including weekly progress reports and collaboration on the development of research instruments
  • Responsible for tracking and meeting deadlines
  • Summarize survey responses and other secondary data in Excel (i.e. Qualtrics), including generation of survey crosstabs
  • Create PowerPoint presentations and charts to summarize research findings
  • Write reports from phone interviews and other research deliverables such as jurisdictional profiles Make presentations to clients (in coordination with Market Advisors)
  • Solicit and receive project feedback from clients
  • Ensure project documentation such as completed project presentations are appropriately captured, stored and shared
  • Make efforts to learn about clients, client needs, and e.Republic business processes, and from an informed perspective anticipate questions, problems, and project needs.
  • Handle important internal and external requests when upper management/market advisors are not available.
  • Attain working knowledge on the organizational structures, processes, and technologies of State and Local governments and education
  • Attends and presents at conferences and client engagements as needed
  • Basic understanding of statistical methods
  • Primarily descriptive, with the occasional opportunity to use inferential statistics (not required, but preferred)


  • A master’s degree in any of the following fields is an asset and will be given favorable consideration: library and information studies, education, information systems management, political science, or business.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience with data aggregation and presenting research findings via PowerPoint, web conference, conference calls
  • Experience with market research, competitive intelligence, and/or business intelligence or related areas such as librarianship
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and competing timelines, and simultaneously set priorities for self and others
  • Experience in either the education or government sectors is a plus, but is not required
  • Retention of market-level knowledge, once acquired; apply such knowledge to future projects and in interactions with clients
  • Comfortable and confident interacting with high-level officials in the private and public sector
  • Attain working knowledge on the organizational structures, processes, and technologies of State and Local governments and education
  • Ability to effectively provide data insights and present findings (orally, graphically)
  • Ability to produce high quality report presentations with an eye to design
  • Ability to mentor, train, and potentially lead junior researchers
  • Consistently gaining knowledge to stay current with the market, policy, and technology
  • Ability to write professional reports, using proper grammar and punctuation
  • Highly proficient with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. Well-trained and knowledgeable in research methodologies and research ethics
  • A capacity for independent and autonomous work within a team environment
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting; utilizing creative problem-solving skills to navigate through issues that may delay presenting deliverables to clients on time
  • Proficient with Qualtrics (is a plus, but is not required)
  • Proficient with Salesforce (is a plus, but is not required)
